2 pm - 4 pm*// Open Conference and Panels: guest speakers address the articulation of “race sciences” with different sociocultural domains (medical, educational, and literary) and the construction of national identities in Brazil and Argentina at the turn of the 20th century.

4:15 pm - 5 pm // Oral Communication Session: Graduate students are especially welcome to submit work on “racial sciences” from any place and time and their manifestations in the various social spaces of culture and science (history, philosophy, and sociology of science; scientific education; literature; cinema; arts). In English, Portuguese or Spanish.
5 pm - 5:10 pm // Break
5:10 pm - 6 pm // Short-term Course: "An Outline of Racial Theories and Eugenics in Brazil." In Portuguese.
