An Outline of Racial Theories and Eugenics in Brazil

short-term course:

Designed for secondary school teachers, secondary school, undergrad, and graduate students, the short-term course "An Outline of Racial Theories and Eugenics in Brazil" will be ministered by the researchers of the LaHBE-USP.

Its main objective is to promote reflections on this theme, so often neglected in the curriculum. Its an opportunity to understand how deep the imbricative relations between biological thought, social science, and history were (and still are). Furthermore, we will reflect on how we can articulate all these topics in a meaningful way in the classrooms.

The short-term course will be taught in Portuguese, and all participants will get certificates.
